Fathers Day 2014
Dear CCF Family,
"Church in the round" was extraordinarily special this past Sunday because of the close proximity and seeing the faces of others in worship as we sat in circles in the multi-purpose gymnasium. Our CCF value of loving God was enhanced by the greater awareness of our complimentary value to love one another as we saw each other in worship. I think the change in setting helps to remind us that our Sunday worship is a group activity not just a lot of individuals worshipping doing their own thing in the same space.
Special thanks to the production team: Paris Rossiter, Nick Koch, Jonathan Pereira and Austin Kauffman, members of the worship band and any others who did the hard work of getting set up. (And there was an even larger group stepping up after the worship tearing it all down in time for the turn around by 3:00pm for Obredos de Christos weekly usage. Thank-you!)
We celebrated the Holy Spirit coming at Pentecost and we celebrated the provision of God at the one year anniversary mark of Heritage & Horizons of asking God: What do you want me to sacrifice and give to you to meet this goal? And so we celebrated how the pledge exceeded the goal, that a considerable amount has already come in and that beside the mortgage payoff and tithe there is remaining promise to repair the crack and sinking foundation in the gymnasium.
We sat in circles around the center court circle. And said, at Pentecost, let's form a CCF family wide prayer circle.
So will you join in praying the CCF prayer:
"God, please fill this space!"
Pray it every time you gather with others who are part of our CCF family. Pray it into the specifics: The space of my own life, the space of my household, our spaces and rooms of the church. Fill it all with your presence fill the space with people so the spaces are full. People energetically aware and engaged with God. Use me!
God please fill this space:
With your presence
With people energetically engaged with you
With my participation however you choose.
We are praying in Jesus' name
