Dear CCF Family,
I received this email this week with this very insightful reflection emerging from a portion of my message this past Sunday. This was in the context of saying this is a year of equipping so that we as a church are the body of Christ carrying out the purposes of Jesus that he initiated when he was here on this earth as Jesus. This response I received is interaction on the 4 statements I posed close to the beginning getting us to think about church and its purpose. Italics are my statements; in parentheses are the response:
1. Come with me to church, I always feel better (It is putting water in my well)
2. Come with me to be like Jesus (Yes, it affirms my belief in Jesus, the Christ)
3. Come with me to change the world (If I have water in my well and have affirmed my belief inJesus, the Christ, then, I resolve to be like my Savior)
4. Come with me to Jesus, so He can change us and use us to change the world (So, if I come to Jesus, Iwilled for Jesus to nourish me in my faith like putting water in my well; therefore, I feel good, both because I have affirmed my belief in my God, and I be like Jesus. Therefore,He has made me have the capacity to make a positive change in the world.)
In 2015 it seems to me there is more intentionality about entering this year than I have noticed in previous years. And not just what I want in this year but how I am seeking the Lord and honoring him. What is God up to, what does he want?
What are you hearing from the Lord for 2015? This letter appears in the CCF E-news and on our CCF web page. On the web page under blogs you may add comments. Let us know how God is speaking to you in 2015.
